Week One
Physical Activity
In the first week of the Move and Learn programme, children learn what physical activity is and the different levels of physical activity, understand what activities contribute to an active day, understand how much physical activity they should be doing for their health and they also take part in a pulse rate experiment.
Week Two
Body and Mind
In the second week of the Move and Learn programme, children learn how physical activity can effect the body and mind and they learn about the type of activities.
Week Three
Eatwell Guide
In the third week of the Move and Learn programme, children look at the components of the Eatwell Guide and understand what it means to have a balanced diet.
Week Four
Meal Planning
In the fourth week of the Move and Learn programme, children apply their knowledge about the Eatwell Guide to design a balanced menu for a day.
Week Five
Hydration
In week five of the Move and Learn programme, children will understand why they need to stay hydrated, identify how to stay hydrated and look at the factors that affect hydration levels.
Week Six
Joy of Moving
In the sixth week of the Move and Learn programme, children will go over everything that has been covered throughout the five other modules and use their knowledge to complete different tasks. They will also be given the challenge of writing a letter to their future selves about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
