What is NCS?
NCS is an experience you really do not want to miss out on. Designed specifically for 16 and 17 year olds (Year 11 and 12), NCS gives you the chance to mix with a new crowd, take on new challenges and make a difference in your local area. NCS can help you grow in confidence, develop teamwork and leadership skills and looks great on your CV. The programme is also recognised by UCAS, so if university is your aim, this programme will help you deliver a killer personal statement.

Experience 1:ย A variety of fun and engaging activities such as kayaking or skiing alongside a stadium tours and our city-wide challenge days.
Experience 2:ย Exciting workshops where you’ll learn new skills to get you ready for the world of work including money management and pitching your business ideas to our very own Dragons’ Den.
Experience 3:ย Learn about how we develop our local area and give back to the community on this final feel-good experience.

Destination Portsmouth:ย City wide scavenger hunt
Kayaking:ย In the summer months
Skiing and Donutting:ย In the winter months
Why should I get involved?
Every experience starts with a day out where you will get the chance to take part in activities such as kayaking, skiing and climbing and be pushed to realise your potential is infinite.
This programme is focused on upskilling and preparing youย the working world whist having fun and making new friends for life. This will involve having tailored workshops for your needs, resulting in increased confidence in CV writing, cover letter writing and interview skills.
You will also be exposed to employability workshops that include practical, strategic, and activities to support you moving forward.
The culmination of everything you have gained in experience is put into a single project in the community. Giving back to this wonderful city of ours. To do this with Pompey in the Community over the other providers means that you get to have a unique insight into our many partners and how they run.ย ย
